Hypurin® Porcine Insulin
(INSULIN Ph Eur)
Hypurin® Porcine insulin is an animal-derived insulin (porcine, pork base) and Wockhardt are the only remaining manufacturer in the world.
Product Update: Wockhardt Porcine insulin VIALS will no longer be available
Wockhardt UK has been the sole supplier of Porcine Insulin Globally for many years and have remained committed to supply patients for as long as possible.
Regrettably, we have had no choice but to discontinue the Hypurin® Porcine Insulin vials moving forward.
All patients currently using vials will need to have their insulin prescription changed. The discontinuation of Hypurin® vials will not affect the supply of Hypurin® cartridges.
Wockhardt have taken every step to ensure minimal disruption to patients using Hypurin Porcine Insulin and have developed a new Hypurin-compatible insulin pen – MyPen2®
Details of mypen2 can be found below.
There is no immediate need for patients currently using an Autopen Classic insulin pen to change their devices. As specified in their instruction leaflet ‘The Autopen Classic can be used for up to two years’
