Wockhardt Implements SAP
Supply chain technology to be upgraded across the company
During the 2005 Christmas period, Wockhardt UK will be managing the implementation of new and upgraded supply chain technology. SAP software systems are due to be installed and rolled out across the company. SAP implementation will allow Wockhardt UK to create an end-to-end manufacturing, supply chain and management information system that is fully linked and compatible with the corporate head offices systems in India.Wockhardt UK has employed expert consultants from IBM to work alongside our in-house teams in overseeing the installation of the new system. A staff training programme has been initiated and is currently underway. The company is planning for a short period at the beginning of January when order-processing systems will be temporarily unavailable in order to facilitate the uploading of new software and the transfer of information from the old system. Additional product stocks have been placed with wholesalers and other customers to cover any short-term availability issues resulting from this essential process. Wockhardt UK has made a significant investment in this upgraded system, believing that our customers will benefit from new planning solutions that will ensure product availability is maximised, distribution is streamlined and accurate and real-time management information is available throughout the supply chain process. |
