Import of Wockhardt UK Ltd bovine insulins into Canada
This guide has been written to help you
if you have not been able to find a suitable replacement for Iletin® 1 in Canada and
wish to obtain beef insulin from Wockhardt UK.
Although Wockhardt UK’s bovine insulins
have been approved and used in the United Kingdom and other countries
for the last
25 years, they are not yet approved for use in Canada. Therefore,
Wockhardt UK cannot supply insulin to you as a resident of Canada
until you have received permission from the relevant Canadian authorities
to bring the insulin into Canada.
This is what to do:

from the following authority:

CONTACT THE DIRECTOR AT TEL - 613 941 2108 OR FAX - 613 941 3194
2. Health Canada will send a copy of the authorisation
direct to your doctor and a copy to Wockhardt UK Ltd.
3. When your doctor receives this he or she should
complete an order
form (pdf) and return it to Wockhardt
UK. Alternatively
the order form is available upon request from our Export Department.
4. Your doctor must also provide a letter, which
includes an undertaking for him/her to report to the company any
